La Habra is a city in the northwestern corner of Orange County, California in the suburbs of Los Angeles. It is bordered by La Habra Heights on the north, Brea on the east, Fullerton on the south, La Mirada and East La Mirada on the west, Whittier on the northwest and Buena Park on the southwest.
La Habra was founded in 1896. The first post office in the town was established in 1898 in a corner of Coy's Store at Central and Euclid Street. For more than 70 years, La Habra was known as the city just south of La Habra Heights where the Hass avocado, of the Hass Avocado Mother Tree, was planted by Rudolph Hass in the 1920s. The fruit from this tree has since become one of the most popular avocado cultivars worldwide.

Public & Private Institutions Of Learning
Education is provided by public, private and home schools. State governments set overall educational standards, often mandate standardized tests for K–12 public school systems and supervise, usually through a board of regents, state colleges, and universities. Funding comes from the state, local, and federal government. Private schools are generally free to determine their own curriculum and staffing policies, with voluntary accreditation available through independent regional accreditation authorities, although some state regulation can apply.
